At WonderCon on Friday night DC UNIVERSE (the DC Comics streaming service) revealed the first image of Brec Bassinger as Stargirl/Courtney Whitmore from their upcoming original live action series.
This will be the third live-action adaptation of the character following brief stints on Smallville and Legends Of Tomorrow. Created by Geoff Johns (who is the series creator and will serve as showrunner) Stargirl first appeared in the Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E comic in 1999 and was a reimagining of the classic Star Spangled Kid.
The show was original set to debut at the end of this year (exclusively on the DC Universe app) but will now be released in 2020 to make room in the schedule for Titans season 2.
