It is being reported by Variety that John Cena is in talks to join the Suicide Squad sequel. They are not saying who he might be playing. He would be joining the newly signed on Idris Elba and the returning Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman and Viola Davis. Will Smith will not be coming back.
The James Gunn directed film is due to go into production at the end of the year for a 6th August 2021 release.
