In a year of surprising superhero film news, mainly on the DC side of things, this one is up there. Jamie Foxx is in final talk to reprise the role of Electro, who he last played in the franchise killing ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ in 2014, in the as yet untitled Spider-Man 3.
Jon Watts is returning to direct for the third time in the Tom Holland era with the film set to go into production by the end of this year. The supporting cast from the pervious films which includes Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori are expected to return and Sony are targeting a release date of 5th November 2021.
No plot details have been released and Marvel have not commented on the casting news. The rumours are that Sony are going to attempt a live action version of their animated hit ‘Into The Spider-Verse’. Expect further announcements of former Spider-Man cast members returning soon.
