Christopher Landon, the writer/director of modern cult horrors ‘Happy Death Day’ and ‘Freaky’, has signed on to remake Frank Marshall’s ‘Arachnophobia’. The Amblin Partners film will be produced by horror aficionado James Wan through his Atomic Monster label.
The original Jeff Daniels starrer revolved around a small U.S. town that is being terrorised by a colony of deadly South American spiders. The film co-starred John Goodman and Julian Sands.
Landon made his name with the ‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise, writing three of them and writing and directing ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones’.
No release date has been set for the film.
