Paramount+ are adapting ‘Galaxy Quest’, a film about a fictional Sci-Fi show, into a actual Sci-Fi show.

The film from 1999, starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell and Alan Rickman, was about the cast of a Star Trek-esque series who get mistaken for actual space heroes by an alien race and get enlisted in their fight against a race of alien warriors.

The new project is in the early development stages and a search is on for a writer to pair with Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad) who executive produced the film.

Previous attempts have been made to continue ‘Galaxy Quest’, as either a sequel film or a series, but work stalled when Alan Rickman died in 2016.

There is no information on whether the original cast is involved.
