A new image released by Empire confirms that the black clad figure from the trailer is indeed an Inquisitor.
The Inquisitors have become a staple of Empire era storytelling in recent time, appearing in shows, games, books and comics but, assuming that this isn’t a flashback, will be the first time one has been seen post Galactic Civil War. The question is who is this Inquisitor? Do we know the person under the mask or is this someone new?
The character resembles the Eight Brother who appeared to die at the end of the second season of ‘Rebels’. This was at the same time that Ahsoka was pulled into the World Between Worlds so there could be a connection. But could it be a familiar face under the mask? There have been rumours that Barriss Offee, the fallen jedi who framed Ahsoka for bombing the Jedi Temple in ‘The Clone Wars, might be in appearing in the show. It’s not an implausible leap to think she may have become an Inquisitor.
The show is also stuffed full of villains, from Lars Mikkelsen’s Thrawn to Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll, so how does an Inquisitor fit into the story.
We will find out who this Inquisitor is when ‘Ahsoka’ begins in August.
