Superman: Legacy continues to lock in cast members before the start the potential actors strike. The latest actor to sign on is Anthony Carrigan, who will be taking on the role of Metamorpho.

Carrigan, who suffers from alopecia, has spoken to The Hollywood reporter about the role.

I like comic books, but I’m not a diehard, but I did when all my hair fell out, go through the kind of pantheon of all of these bald superheroes and supervillains and made note of all of them. I remember seeing Metamorpho and I think he had like a giant like hammer for a hand and I was like, that guy’s badass. Noted. We’ll store that one away.

This character from what I’ve learned of the source material, he didn’t like the way he looked, and I can really relate to that. You know, when he got his powers he thought it was a curse. That’s something that I really felt as well. In my case, I turned it around and saw it as a blessing. So I’m excited to bring that to the table with this character.

Metamorpho, also known as Rex Mason, is a DC Comics character who first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #57 in 1965. He gained his powers after touching an ancient artifact called the Orb of Ra, which allows him to shape-shift and manipulate his molecular structure. As a member of the superhero team Outsiders, led by Batman, Metamorpho has faced various adversaries like Dr. Simon Stagg and Java. His distinctive appearance, with a body composed of different coloured and textured elements, adds to his unique and visually striking presence in the DC Universe.

Carrigan has already played a DC character, appearing as Mr. Zsasz on Gotham.

Superman: Legacy will be released on 11th July 2025.
