Christopher Landon (Freaky) is set to direct Scream 7. He will be taking over helming duties from the Radio Silence duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who have overseen the last two films.
Landon looks a good fit for the project, having made his name with acclaimed comedy slasher series Happy Death Day.
Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have left the Scream franchise as they are currently working with Universal to revive their monsters.
Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, and Mason Gooding, who all starred in films five and six are expected to return but no deals can be made until after the actors strike. The Hollywood strikes are also the reason why no writer is currently attached.
No release date has been announced.
