The problems for Marvel Studios’ television division continue with reports that the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again is to be completely overhauled with some completed episodes being completely scrapped.
The show had started production earlier in the year but the pause button was hit in June due to the strikes. During this break, enough footage was assemble for Kevin Feige to realise that the show wasn’t working and in late September the head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were let go, along with all the directors who had been hired for the remainder of the season.
Sources for The Hollywood Reporter are saying the show was very different from the original Netflix series, with the focus being on courtroom aspect of the character over the superhero-ing side. It has been said that the Daredevil costume wouldn’t even appear until the fourth episode.
New writers and directors are being sought to take over the production with the aim being a significant creative revamp but Corman and Ord will reportedly remain onboard as executive producers.
The show was expected to debut in 2024 but now a 2025 release now looks the most likely.
