
The Mission: Impossible franchise and Tom Cruise’s bad luck with release dates continues with with the eighth film being pushed back a year due to the ongoing actors strike.
Original set for 28th June, 2024, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 will now debut on 23rd May, 2025. It is also rumoured that the film will be retitled due to Part 1’s underperformance at the box office.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 was originally due for release on 23rd July, 2021, but was delayed multiple times due to the global pandemic. It was finally released on 10th July this year but was then steamrollered at the box office by Barbie and Oppenheimer. Part 2 had been on a break from filming so Tom Cruise could promote Part 1 but then the strike started, bring the production to a halt.
A Quiet Place: Day One will now move back three months to take the 28th June release date.
