Lionsgate’s remake of Highlander is alive again with the project looking to start production next year.

The studio will launch sales of the film at the AFM next month with Henry Cavill locked to star and Chad Stahelski set to direct. The film will have a budget over $100 million and Stahelski is comparing it to his John Wick films.

The original 1986 film, which was about immortal warriors in battle to be the only one, starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown and spawned multiple films and television series, both live action and animated.

The new film’s most recent draft was by Mike Finch and it will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, Joshua Davis and Louise Rosner.
