As part of the current Marvels Studios shake up, Loki creator and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness scribe, Michael Waldron, is the new writer of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Waldron replaces Jeff Loveness on the project which is also looking for a new director after Destin Daniel Cretton’s departure. The film still has a 1st May, 2026, release date.

Waldron is already writing Avengers: Secret Wars, which is due on 7th May, 2027, adding fuel to the rumour that the films are now being positioned to be a two-parter like Infinity War and Endgame.

With Loki being the studios most critical acclaimed and the Doctor Strange sequel one of the most commercial successful of their recent project, Waldon has become positioned as one of Marvel’s most trusted creatives.
