Timothy Olyphant will star opposite Sydney Chandler in Noah Hawley’s upcoming Alien series for FX.
Deadline are reporting that Olyphant will play Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Chandler’s Wendy who is a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult. Synths are the A.I. characters of the Alien universe and have been both heroes and villains. Ian Holm famously played the synth, Ash, in the original film and Michael Fassbinder’s Michael was a lead in the most recent films.
The series will also star Alex Lawther as a soldier named CJ, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, a CEO, as well as Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav as Slightly and Kit Young as Tootles.
The show had started filming in Thailand back in July but was shut down due to the Hollywood strikes. The plan is to start shooting again in January.
Hawley’s show is a separate project to Alien: Romulas, a new film that will be released next year.
