Eli Roth will be making a sequel to Thanksgiving, the best reviewed film of his directing career, with a release set for 2025.
Thanksgiving started life as a fake trailer that played in front of Quentin Tarantino’s and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse back in 2007. The film finally become a reality, starring Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, with Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon and Tim Dillon and was released this month. So far it has taken more than $30 million globally.
The original film is a traditional holiday slasher, taking place a year after a Black Friday sale gone wrong, when a serial killer wearing the mask of the Pilgrim John Carver began killing those who were at the store that fateful day, terrorising Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.
