Next ‘Star Wars’ Film Gets A Production Start Date

The new Star Wars film, that will see Daisy Ridley reprising her role of Rey, reportedly now has a production start date.

According to Production List, a trade website that tracks available work in the industry, has a listing that states filming will commence on the 7th April, 2024, in London. This will most likely be at Pinewood Studios.

The new film, which picks up Rey’s story fifteen years after The Rise Of Skywalker, will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were originally attached to write the project but they have since been replaced by Steven Knight. The film was announced at this years Star War Celebration with Ridley coming out on stage.

Further casting announcements are expected soon.

The film currently has a release date of 22nd May, 2026.
