The Mandalorian will be jumping from Disney+ to the big screen with series creator Jon Favreau directing.
The film, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, will go into production this year with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm chief creative officer, producing. The film will be the first Star Wars film to go into production since 2019’s The Rise Of Skywalker.

Jon Favreau
This film will debut before the three that were announced at Star Wars Celebration last year. Those films, which include one starring Daisy Ridley, a Filoni directed Mandalorian tie-in, and an origin of the Jedi film from James Mangold, are still being developed.
Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,
Kathleen Kennedy
This film will replace a potential fourth season of The Mandalorian.
It was also confirmed that a second season of Ahsoka was being developed.
No release date for the film was announced.
