Paramount have started work on a third Top Gun with Ehren Kruger, who co-wrote Top Gun: Maverick, the highest grossing film of 2022, working on the script. Kruger’s involvement was first revealed by Puck. Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison are producing.
If the project comes together, the plan is for Maverick director Joe Kosinski to return with Tom Cruise and co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell back in front of the camera.
Cruise has just signed a production deal with Warners that is non-exclusive but development on the sequel is thought to have begun towards the end of last year. The actor is currently working on Mission: Impossible 8 for Paramount.
