Universal are keen to get dinosaurs back on the big screen and have quietly had David Koepp writing the next Jurassic World film. The previous film in the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion, was released in 2022.
Koepp is a veteran of the franchise having written the script for the original film, 1993’s Jurassic Park, and it sequel, The Lost World, in 1997. Both films were directed by Steven Spielberg.
Universal are said to be happy with the script and, if everything comes together, might be eyeing a 2025 release date. Currently there is director attached but franchise producer Frank Marshall is on board alongside Patrick Crowley. Spielberg will executive produce.
No plot details have been revealed but it is thought that the new film will move on from the character in the previous two trilogies.
