Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh will star in Amazon’s Blade Runner 2099, a limited series sequel to Blade Runner 2049.
The series will be produced by Blade Runner director Ridley Scott with Silka Luisa (Shining Girls) acting as showrunner. The first two episodes will be directed by Jonathan van Tulleken (Shogun).
Production was due to start last year in Northern Ireland but was delayed due to the Hollywood strikes. Shooting is now underway with shooting shifted to Prague.
No details have been released about Yeoh’s character and there has been no mention of any of the franchise’s previous actors returning.
Yeoh is currently shooting Star Trek: Section 31 for Paramount+.

We Have Issues 
After what she’s done for Star Trek and her Oscar win for a sci-fi classic like Everything Everywhere All At Once, it should be most interesting to see what Michelle could do for the Blade Runner universe.
