Weaver In Talks For ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

Sci-Fi legend Sigourney Weaver is in negotiations to join the first new Star Wars film since 2019’s The Rise Of Skywalker.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will be a continuation for the hit Disney+ show The Mandalorian with the show’s creator Jon Favreau attached as writer and director. The film will be produced by Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni.

The show’s star Pedro Pascal is also expected to return but it may just be to voice the lead character due to scheduling commitments. Pascal hasn’t physically appeared on the show since the second season finale.

Weaver in known as the face of the Alien franchise but has plenty of other genre work under her belt including roles in the Avatar and Ghostbusters films.

No details of Weaver’s role have been released. The Mandalorian & Grogu has a May 2026 release date.
