Sony has announced that the in development legacy sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer will be released on 18th July, 2025.
The new film will be directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and written by Robinson and Sam Lansky from a script by Leah McKendrick. No details about the new film’s plot have been release but original stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are thought to be reprising their roles in some compacity.
There are already three films in the franchise, the first being released in 1997, that revolves around a serial killer fisherman with a hook getting revenge for an accident that happened the previous summer. A short lived television reimagining was also produced by Amazon in 2021.
