Marvel Studios has selected Michael Lesslie to write the MCU’s first X-Men film. Lesslie wrote the recent The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes and is currently working on Now You See Me 3.
The film is still a long way off with Lesslie being the only talent attached at the moment apart from Marvel boss Kevin Feige. With Disney cutting back on their Marvel output, the project is at least three years away when you take into account everything that has already being announced.
Since Marvel Studios regained the rights to the X-Men when Disney purchased 20th Century Fox they have been drip-feeding the concept into the MCU. This summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine looks to be the set-up for their full introduction.
