After weeks of hints from the actor, Giancarlo Esposito has been add to the cast of Captain America: Brave New World as the film begins 22 days of reshoots. Esposito’s exact role is unknown at this time but he will be playing an antagonist to Anthony Mackie’s Captain America.
The film, which finished it principle shoot before last year’s Hollywood strikes, is still being directed by Julius Onah. The shut down did allow Marvel to re-evaluate what they had and it was rumoured that there was a round of reshoots earlier this year but these are the first to be confirmed. The film was originally due to be released next month but will now come out on 16th February, 2025.
The film, which is Mackie’s first in the lead role, also stars Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez and Rosa Salazar.
