The creative team behind the Hostel film franchise, Eli Roth, Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss, are bring it back as an “elevated thriller” series starring Paul Giamatti.
This reinvention of the films will be directed by Roth from a script by Roth and Briggs. Roth, Briggs, and Fleiss will all be executive producers on the series, which is yet to find a streaming home.
The original movie revolved around three backpackers as they headed to a Slovak city that promised to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaited them.
The first two films, released in 2005 and 2007, were written and directed by Eli Roth. A third Roth written direct to DVD entry came out in 2011.
