Yann Demange is no longer going to direct Marvel Studios’ Blade.
After numerous delays and rewrites, Demange’s departure is said to be amicable and to have happened a while ago. The film was originally announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con and was set to shoot in 2022 with Bassam Tariq directing. Demange’s film was due to enter production in 2023 back was halted by the Hollywood strikes.
Mahershala Ali is still attached to star as Blade with Eric Pearson writing the current draft and the film has a 7th November 2025 release date.
