Netflix appears to have ordered a sequel to their shark hit Under Paris after the film became the second overall in all-time viewership on the streaming service’s non-English movies chart with 99.9 million views
Released earlier this year, Under Paris, directed by Xavier Gens and starring Bérénice Bejo, follows the journey of a grieving scientist who moves earth and heaven in order to save the citizens of Paris from an imminent shark attack.
In an interview with La Tribune, Bejo revealed that she will shoot the sequel starting in September next year.
In September 2025, we will shoot Under Paris 2. It will not be a simple sequel. It is another film, very different…but still, with a shark.
