Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has signed on to write and direct a remake of ’90s masturbation horror Idle Hands.
Wolfhard will work alongside his creative partner, Billy Bryk, with whom he co-wrote, co-directed, costarred in, and produced festival hit Hell of a Summer. This reimagining is being produced by Jason Reitman for Sony Pictures. The trio have previously worked together on Reitman’s Ghostbusters films and Saturday Night.
Finn and Billy crushed their directorial debut and have a completely original take on ‘Idle Hands’ that captures a disaffected generation,” Reitman says. “We are excited to support them as they bring their unique take to the screen and summon the demons.

The original Idle Hands, released in 1999 and directed by Rodman Flender and starred Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Elden Henson, and Jessica Alba, was a teen stoner horror comedy about a slacker whose hand becomes possessed by a demon and goes on a killing spree.
