‘The Batman’ Sequel Delayed A Year

Matt Reeves’ follow-up to The Batman has been pushed back a full year and gone back to being untitled. It had previously been referred to as The Batman: Part II.

Originally due to be released on 2nd October, 2026, Warner Bros. has now pencilled the film in for 1st October, 2027. That will be five and a half years since the release of the first film.

A script has not been submitted to DC Studios yet but the film is expected to be before cameras towards the end of next year. Matt Reeves will write and direct with Robert Pattinson returning to star as Batman but nothing else about the film has been confirmed.

The film has been confirm by James Gunn to be separate from the new DCU.
