Game Of Thrones star Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi Knight turned mercenary, in the second season of the Star Wars show Ahsoka.
The role was originated by Ray Stevenson, who sadly died before the first season was broadcast. The character became essential to the show’s storytelling, being a pivotal point of the first season’s cliffhanger, so a recast was required rather than a rewrite.
Filming on the show, which is written by Dave Filoni, is moving to the UK and is expected to commence in the first half of this year. It is thought that second season will be utilising real locations, rather than relying on the Volume technology that has become associated with Star Wars show, and will conclude the show’s storylines, setting up Filoni’s already announce film.
