Barbie star Ryan Gosling is in talks to lead Shawn Levy’s mystery Star Wars film.
Levy has been developing the project, which has never been public acknowledge by Lucasfilm, since 2022 with the help of frequent collaborator Jonathan Tropper (This is Where I Leave You, The Adam Project), with the script being worked on for over a year.
No story details about the film have leaked but it has been said that it is planned as a one off, stand-alone story.
If Gosling’s involvement becomes a reality, it will put the film on the fast track. The project will become Levy’s next film, leapfrogging a proposed reunion with Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynold and Hugh Jackman on a new project, and be the next Star Wars film to enter production, with the chance of cameras rolling before the end of the year.
