Speak No Evil director James Watkins is set to helm Clayface for DC Studios. The film, based on the Batman villain, has been written by Mike Flanagan.
They have been a number of DC villains that have gone by the name Clayface. Sources say that this will be an amalgam of the first two, creating a Hollywood horror tale centring on a B-movie actor who injects himself with a substance to keep himself relevant, only to find out that he can reshape his face and form, becoming a walking piece of clay.
The movie is budgeted at around $40 million and due to shoot later this year. With a release date set for 11th September, 2026, this will be DC Studios second film to be released, with the first being Superman.
Watkins is an established horror director, having helmed Eden Lake, The Woman In Black, and Speak No Evil.
