A24’s Friday The 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, is moving forward with Linda Cardellini in he lead role. Cardellini is set to play Pamela Voorhees, the killer from the original Friday The 13th, and the mother unkillable slasher Jason.
The show was originally announced with Bryan Fuller as the writer and showrunner back in 2022. Fuller departed the project in 2024 and Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome To Derry) joined the series in August and is credited as creator, writer and showrunner.
Nothing defined my childhood more than growing up in the golden age of the slasher flick, and nothing’s defined the genre more than Friday The 13th. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to contribute a chapter to this iconic franchise, particularly with such fearless partners as Peacock and A24.
