Action director Michael Bay is attached to direct an adaption of OutRun, the classic 80s racing game. Sydney Sweeney is also onboard as a producer.
The project, that has been put together by Universal, will be written by Jayson Rothwell.
OutRun, which was released in 1986, was an against the clock racing game in which the player had to hit check points before the time runs out.
Video game adaptations are currently the biggest money makers in Hollywood with the likes of The Super Mario Bros, Sonic The Hedgehog, and The Minecraft Movie all being box office smashes.
