Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is attached to produce and helm a new film based on the classic cop show Miami Vice.
The film will be written by Dan Gilroy, who has recently been working on Andor, and produced by Dylan Clarke (The Batman).
The original Miami Vice was a ground breaking cop show created by Anthony Yerkovich. Running from ’84 to ’90, the series starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as a pair of stylish undercover cops. It was executive produced by Michael Mann, who went on to direct a film version in 2004 starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
Next up for Joseph Kosinski is F1, starring Brad Pitt, and then he will move onto an untitled UFO film for Apple before tackling Miami Vice.
