Star Wars: Starfighter has finally started production and to celebrate the event, Lucasfilm have officially announced the main cast.
It had already been announced that Ryan Gosling would lead the cast and he will now be joined by Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird (hopefully not doing his Yoda impression from The Inbetweeners), Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.
The film will be a stand alone adventure in the Star Wars universe and will be part of the franchises 50th anniversary.
I feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter. From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally. Star Wars shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.

The film is being produced by Levy and Kathleen Kennedy with Ryan Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen acting as executive producers. The script is by Jonathan Tropper.
Star Wars: Starfighter will be released on 28th May, 2027.
