The Jimmy Olsen show spinning off from Superman will have Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda as the executive producers and show runners. The pair are best know for creating Netflix’s mockumentary series American Vandal.
The show will see Superman scene stealer Skyler Gisondo return as Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen, following his adventures investigating the criminals of the DC Universe. The first season will focus on super-intelligent evil ape Gorilla Grodd.
American Vandal was a comedy about high school investigative reporters and it’s is thought the new series will have a similar tone. They also created Players for Paramount+ and, separately, Perrault wrote dog comedy Strays while Yacenda directed the pilot for Chad Powers.
