John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, best known for Game Night and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, have been picked by Paramount to write and direct a new Star Trek film. The new project will be unconnected to any previous Star Trek incarnation.
There has not been a Star Trek film since 2016’s Star Trek Beyond. Over the years there have been numerous attempts to bring back the Chris Pine lead cinematic crew, including a R-rated Tarantino version, but all have stalled. Since 2017 the franchise has lived on streaming to various levels of success.
Goldstein and Daley next feature to be released will be Mayday for Apple TV, the pair also wrote a number of other hits, including Spider-Man: Homecoming, Horrible Bosses, and Vacation.
