
Peacock has picked up video game adaptation Twist Metal for a third season with David Reed taking over as showrunner from Michael Jonathan Smith. Smith had overseen the show for the first two season and had fulfilled his contractual obligations.
In the first season of Twisted Metal, the story follows John Doe, played by Anthony Mackie, a skilled driver who is tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Along his journey, he encounters a colorful cast of characters, including the fierce and deadly Sweet Tooth, portrayed by Samoan wrestler Samoa Joe and voiced by Will Arnett, and the resourceful Quiet, played by Stephanie Beatriz. The season combines dark humor, high-octane action, and memorable performances as the characters navigate their chaotic world.
The second season saw Anthony Carrigan add to the cast as Calypso, adding depth to the show’s rich array of characters. As the story evolves, the battle for survival intensifies, showcasing a thrilling mix of action and dark humor that fans have come to love, with the heroes try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface (Tiana Okoye).
The post-credit scene of season two set up what’s to come as John and Quiet prepare to take on Calypso after he frames them for murdering the spectators at the Twisted Metal tournament.
