French shark thriller Under Paris was a big hit for Netflix back in 2024 and now there is movement on a sequel.
Haute Tension directior Alexandre Aja has signed on to helm the sequel, replacing the original film’s director Xavier Gens.
The first film starred Bérénice Bejo as a marine researcher investigating mysterious attacks in the Seine and ended with a flooded Paris overrun by a horde of mutant sharks. The ending set up Bejo to return for a sequel and she is expected to star again.
It is unknown if Gens, who also co-wrote Under Paris, is returning in some capacity.
Aja is no stranger to aquatic horrors having already directed hits Piranha 3D and Crawl.
