
It looks like Tom Cruise will team up with Joseph Kosinski for the third time to play the villain in the new Miami Vice remake.
The film is said to be to be a retelling of the classic cop show’s first season with the script being written by Dan Gilroy and Eric Warren Singer. It will keep the ’80s setting and following to undercover detectives as they hunt down the killer of their respective partners.
It has previously been reported that Austin Butler and Michael B. Jordan are in talks to play the two cop, Crockett and Tubbs. The roles were originated by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas and played by Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx in Michael Mann’s 2006 remake.
Cruise has previously worked with Kosinski on Oblivion and Top Gun: Maverick.
Miami Vice has a release date of 6th August, 2027.
