Anne Hathaway has signed up for the Days Of Thunder sequel that will see Tom Cruise reprise his role of Cole Trickle.
The follow-up to the 1990 Tony Scott film has a release date of 2nd June, 2028.
Hathaway will play a team owner and engineer in the new film which will be written by Will Staples, with Jonathan Levine set to direct. Cruise will also produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper.
The original film followed Cole as he was recruited by a retired racing legend, played by Robert Duvall, to a new NASCAR team. It also starred Nicole Kidman, Michael Rooker, Cary Elwes and Randy Quaid.
