James Gunn announced on X that he has found the actor to play the villain in Man Of Tomorrow.
German actor Lars Eidinger, known for Berlin Babylon, All The Light We Cannot See, and White Noise, has come out on top of a worldwide search that has seen numerous others mentioned.
First appearing in Superman #242, Brainiac is a super-intelligent android who explores the universe to collect its knowledge. Travelling in a massive skull-shaped spaceship, he shrinks cities and stores them in bottles.
Eidinger joins the returning cast from the first film, which includes David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult playing Lex Luthor.
Man Of Tomorrow is looking to go into production early next year with James Gunn writing and directing. The release date is set as 9th July, 2027.
