
Former Superman Henry Cavill has revealed on Instagram the first look at himself in the new Highlander.
The long gestating film, which was due to go into production last year before being delayed again due to an injury to Cavill, finally started filming in Scotland with John Wick’s Chad Stahelski directing.
Cavill is taking on the role of Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert in the original), a Medieval Scottish Highlander who discovers he is an immortal . With the help of a swordsman named Ramirez (Russell Crowe), the Highlander battles other immortals across the centuries until there is only one.
The film will also star Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Marisa Abela, Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang, Drew McIntyre, Siobhán Cullen, Jun Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes and Kevin McKidd.
The film will be released next year.
