Top 5 Things We Learnt From The Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer

We get our first look at the post Endgame world with the release of the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer. While the film is obviously a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming it is also being marketed as a direct follow up to the events of Avengers: Endgame. There are a lot of questions about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the moment, how many answers will this movie give us?

Here are the top five things we learnt from the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer.

5. Thor is still a player in the MCU

Going into Avengers: Endgame everyone was wondering which of the original Avengers would still be around afterwards. At the end of that film we see Thor teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. In this trailer Nick Fury mentions that Thor is off planet. We are not saying that he will appear in this film but the fact that there is a reference to him strongly implies that we will be seeing him again in the future.

4. Everyone knows Peter is Spidey

Secret identities aren’t a thing in the MCU. From the moment Tony Stark said ‘I am Iron Man’ no one has worried about these things. Peter wears a mask but everyone works out or discovers who he is and this carries on in the trailer with MJ saying she knows who he is.

3. Peter has Tony Stark’s glasses

Peter is seen taking off Tony Stark’s glasses with a shocked look on his face and the trailer is cut to make it look like he is reacting to mass destruction. But what if this is where Iron Man makes a cameo. We know Tony was recording messages and we have seen fancy tech in his glasses. Peter’s reaction could be to an appearance by his mentor.

2. Spider-Man is being set up to be the new Iron Man

It is mentioned numerous times in the trailer that Tony Stark is gone and the World needs a new Iron Man. This doesn’t mean that Peter will become the new Iron Man but will become what Iron Man represented to the World. Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan even says that Tony wouldn’t have done what he did if he didn’t believe in Peter. Also, the Avengers need a new leader.

1. We are now in a multiverse

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is introduced by Nick Fury as being from an Earth from a different dimension. The ‘Snap’ has ruptured the fabric of the Universe and opened up these alternate realities. This opens up a whole different world of storytelling for the MCU and now anything can happen. Or Mysterio could be lying, he is a conman.
