In a surprise move , ‘IT’ director Andy Muschietti has entered talks with Warner Bros. to take the helm of ‘The Flash’. ‘Game Night’ writer/directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein had been working on this for some time but creative differences stopped the project moving forward. They wanted to do something light, the film’s star Ezra Miller wanted to go dark. Miller is still attached to play the lead. Christina Hodgson, ‘Bumblebee’ and ‘Birds Of Prey’ is now being eyed to write the screenplay.
Muschietti’s hiring would be in line with Warners recent approach to the DC films. They have had success hiring horror directors like James Wan on ‘Aquaman’ and David F. Sandberg on ‘Shazam’. Muschietti has also got a good relationship with the studio after the success of ‘IT’.
Warner Bros are rumoured to want to put the film into production early next year.
