The Hollywood Reporter have got word that Marvel are ready to move forward with the ‘Black Panther’ franchise following the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman. It is reported the cameras will start rolling in July.
Production was originally planned to start in March 2021 until the tragedy put the film into limbo. There has being no word from Marvel about how they will handle Boseman’s death except that they won’t use CGI.
Ryan Coogler is returning to write and direct and Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are expected to return, with possibility Wright’s character may take over the title role. Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) is in talks to play an unnamed villain.
Due to the pandemic, no release date is confirmed.
