The long in development ‘Indy 5’ looks set to go before cameras next week. The film will be shot at Pinewood Studios and around Britain.
Harrison Ford, who is returning to the role for the final time, has been spotted near the studio this week. The James Mangold directed film will also star Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann
This will be the first Indiana Jones film not to be directed by co-creator Steven Spielberg but he will still be attached as a producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. John Williams will again provide the score. There will be no involvement from George Lucas, the character’s other creator, who has now retired from filmmaking.
Plot details are, of course, non-existent but it is rumoured to be set in the late 60s/early 70s to keep Ford age appropriate and it may have something to do with the space race. The previous film ‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull’ was released in 2008 and set in 1957.
The plan is to release the film on 29th July 2022.
