Marvel Studios have found the lead for their Disney+ Halloween special. Mexican actor Gael García Bernal will lead the cast of a werewolf-theme show set within the MCU. It is widely thought that this is an adaptation of ‘Werewolf By Night’ but Marvel are yet to put a name to the project.
Marvel has two characters that carry the Werewolf By Night name. The first was Jack Russell, who debut in 1972, a man from a line of werewolves who had learnt to control their curse. The second is Jake Gomez, whose first appearance was in 2020, a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy. It has not been revealed which character the project will focus on.
It is thought the project will go into production early next year but there is no comment from Marvel Studios. This will be the second Marvel season special after the already announced ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special’.
