Amazon Studios have put ‘Blade Runner 2099’, a live action series continuation of the two films, into development.
Ridley Scott, visionary director of the original film, has signed on as executive producer for the series which will be a follow-up to ‘Blade Runner 2049’, the sequel directed by Denis Villeneuve.
The project is being fast tracked as the streaming wars continue and now that Amazon are without a flagship sci-fi title now that ‘The Expanse’ has finished. Scott may direct if the series moves into production.
