Following Justin Lin’s departure Universal have moved quickly and approached Louis Leterrier in regards to directing ‘Fast X’. If he signs on the film’s first unit will be back to work in the next few days. It had been reported that the film would be losing around about $1 million per day that they weren’t shooting.
Leterrier is no stranger to vehicular action films having directed the first two Jason Statham lead ‘Transporter’ films. He has also worked with Marvel on ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and directed the ‘Clash Of The Titans’ remake. His latest film, French action comedy ‘The Takedown’, debuts on Netflix this week.
